Homework Policy

The students at all grade levels are expected to set aside a specific time period each evening to complete class/homework assignments and/or review learning.

JK/SK up to 10 minutes

Grade 1 – 3 up to 30 minutes

Grade 4 – 6 up to 60 minutes

Grade 7 – 8 up to 90 minutes

What to Expect for Homework

Kindergarten

Pre-reading/shared reading with your child

Primary 1-2: Completion of unfinished classroom assignments

Project work

Drill and practice in Mathematics

Daily reading

Sharing of agendas if applicable

Primary 3 – Junior 6

Project work, research

Drill and practice in Mathematics

Daily reading and spelling of assigned words

Sharing of agendas and completion of unfinished classroom work

Studying for tests

Intermediate 7-8

Project work

Daily silent reading

Practice and review of Mathematical concepts

Sharing of agendas and completion of unfinished work

Studying for tests/exams

Research using computer/internet (if available)

Sharing of journals with parents
